About
Whitney uses her robust communications skills to strengthen the range of advocacy activities in which she engages. She is equally as comfortable supporting a community health worker to use her/his voice as she is backstopping a high-level political official to advocate for action. Likewise, she has honed her voice to become an advocate for global health in her own right.
We were honored to have Whitney work with us for a few months to strengthen the messaging and overall communications for RSIF. Whitney was a breath of fresh air. She quickly understood our comms needs and helped us to reflect and implement new strategies. I would highly recommend Whitney.
I worked with Whitney for close to one year and found her to be an incredibly valuable resource and very effective in helping me to make some much needed improvements to my career growth and development. She is an objective person who will hold you accountable, make you look at things from a different perspective and help you put structures around what you are doing.
About
Well, I ended up in journalism school indulging the pleasure of my heart – writing. By using pen and paper to channel my thoughts, visions and strategies, I realised that I can create anything with the right environment for imagination and of course, resources. I also learnt that beyond the pen and paper, how communication is done will determine the success of the outcome. So here I am, passionate about solving every-day organizational challenges using effective communication strategies.
This, plus my passion for youth empowerment, inspired the establishment of Story Book Africa.
The Story Book Africa is a creative enterprise with a social purpose – to educate, entertain, and influence the youth (18-35) in Africa to make informed decisions on their healing, growth and development. Working in this way, Story Book Africa improves young people’s lives in our communities and societies for sustainable change.
Stories shape how we understand the world, our place in it, and our ability to change it. Given that we are all products of our backgrounds, perceptions and experiences – which all form how we interpret the world – then we all have unique stories to share, hence the logline – There are people. There are stories.
